Daiseki's track record
Our track record to date
The Daiseki Group has mobilized its people and resources after disasters to engage in environmental pollution prevention and restoration, performing recovery and disposal of spilled oil, etc.
The following are examples of the Daiseki Group's record of contribution after major disasters.
1998, Nakhodka crude oil spill
The Russian tanker Nakhodka sank off the coast of the Oki Islands in Shimane Prefecture. A large amount of crude oil spilled into the Sea of Japan and washed ashore over a wide area from the coastal area of Shimane Prefecture to Ishikawa Prefecture. Daiseki actively participated in the oil recovery effort, primarily working from its Hokuriku Works.

2011, Great East Japan Earthquake
Many factories were damaged by earthquake and tsunami in the Great East Japan Earthquake, with crude oil and other substances spilled into the soil, ocean, and rivers. Daiseki’s Kanto and Chiba Works took the lead in laying out an emergency structure and engaging in relief activities.

2018, support for reconstruction after major flooding in Western Japan
- Torrential rains that occurred in July 2018 in Western Japan created large amounts of disaster-related wastes. Daiseki Eco. Solution has provided and still continues support activities including advising on treatment and management methods for local construction companies performing treatment of disaster-related waste in Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture and collection and treatment of sediments mixed with waste accumulated in rainwater ditches in Saka-cho, Hiroshima Prefecture, at the request of the Ministry of the Environment.
Japan Disaster Treatment Systems (JDTS), of which Daiseki Eco. Solution is a member, has received the Minister of the Environment Award for Disaster Response Support for its support activities following a number of major disasters including the torrential rains in Western Japan. -

2021, environment contamination after a cargo ship ran aground
- Daiseki's business sites engage in recovery activities following environmental contamination incidents occurring at neighboring factories, roads, rivers and other locations after typhoons or other natural disasters. Our Kanto Works has supported recovery from an environmental contamination incident involving a cargo ship that ran aground at Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture in August 2021.

2024, Noto Peninsula Earthquake
- When the Noto Peninsula Earthquake occurred on January 1, Daiseki checked the safety of its employees and the condition of its equipment, and on January 3, sent aid from its Hokuriku Works and Nagoya Works to customers affected in Ishikawa and Toyama prefectures. We heard words of joy from customers, such as “the restoration, which was expected to take six months, was completed early” and “thanks to the restoration of lifelines like the cafeteria and bath, we were able to open them for use by employees and their families.”
